“When children are being raised by both parents and the test for contact is met, one visit per month may be reasonable or even less. In some instances, grandparent contact may mimic the type of contact that often follows an adoption – perhaps only two, four or six times a year.
The goal is to maintain the positive connection between grandparents (or other family members) through to young adulthood. Care must be taken to maintain these bonds in a way that does not interfere with the parents’ ability to raise their children free from interference, and as they see fit.”
